as far as I can see, Notes is working as expected.
There are just two updates, one after the other. In this case, first change by the user, second change by the server.
The only time when there should be a conflict, is when the agent alters the document while at the same time the user has the same document opened in edit mode.
Beleve me : if Domino would create a conflict in this case, that would be a very nasty problem! Imagine that all user document updates become conflicts when their document is in some documentcollection at that time!
You could keep record of when te agent started, and compare it to the time the document was last modified, before updating it.
